The Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) programme at UoC equips students with the right skills and knowledge for diverse pharmacy careers. This includes the pharmaceutical industry, community pharmacy, primary care services and hospital & clinical pharmacy practices. In our programme, students are exposed to hands-on and real-life experiential learning right from Year 1. Our Pharmacy Degree also provides students a chance to learn about niche areas and newer practices in pharmacy, such as disaster & relief medicine, nuclear pharmacy, veterinary pharmacy, military pharmacy and cosmetics & nutraceuticals.

Course Structure

Course Description- The Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) at UoC is a meticulously designed four-year degree, unfolding over eight semesters, dedicated to moulding competent pharmacists well-versed in all major pharmacy practices. The programme is designed to produce pharmacists with updated knowledge, desired interpersonal skills and holistic approaches in the provision of pharmaceutical care.

Our pharmacy degree goes beyond traditional pharmacy education by integrating innovative areas like veterinary pharmacy, military pharmacy, and nutraceuticals, providing a broader perspective and opening new avenues in the field. The curriculum is continuously updated in response to advancements in healthcare and pharmaceutical sciences, ensuring graduates are not only ready to meet today’s challenges but also to anticipate the needs of the future.

Course Training and Practical- Students will be exposed to various laboratories sessions, field and simulated exercises, visits, industrial training at pharmaceutical companies, attachment at community pharmacies and at designated Ministry of Health primary care clinics and hospitals.

Entry Requirement

Qualification & Requirement

STPM/A-Level

Grades BBB or ABC or AAC in 3 subjects:

Biology and Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics

With a minimum grade of B for chemistry.

Note: Combination of A-Level or STAM and STPM is allowed to fulfil the entry requirement

UoC Foundation or equivalent

Grades BBB, ABC, or AAC in 3 subjects:

Biology and Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics with a minimum grade of B for chemistry

And provided the course is not less than one (1) year

And minimum 5Bs in SPM/O- Levels for:

Biology; and Chemistry; and Physics; and Mathematics or Additional Mathematics; and

Another subject

Unified Examination Certificate UEC B4 each in 3 subjects: Biology and Chemistry and Physics or Advanced Mathematics

IB Diploma

International Baccalaureate

Minimum of 30 points overall and attained a minimum score of 5 each in 3 of the following subjects: Biology/ Chemistry/ Physics or Mathematics with a minimum of 2 at Higher Level (HL) and 1 at Standard Level.

Diploma in Pharmacy

Minimum CGPA 3.50 and provided the programme is not less than 5 semesters or 2½  years and completed in the same institution and  Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2 Bs each in

Chemistry and Biology/Physics/Maths and Credits in 3 other subjects, including English or General Certificate of Education Ordinary (“O”) levels or equivalent 2 Bs each in

Chemistry and Biology/Physics/Maths and Credits in 3 other subjects

Diploma in Science

Diploma in Science (Chemistry or Biology or Physics) from any HEI recognised by MQA and MOHE with a minimum CGPA 3.75 including minimum B for Chemistry.

*with SPM/O-Level/equivalent with

minimum 5Bs in the following subjects:

Biology; and Chemistry; and Physics; and Mathematics or Additional Mathematics; and

Another subject

South Australian Matriculation (SAM)

Aggregate 75% each in 3 science subjects: Chemistry, Biology, and Physics or Mathematics, including a minimum of 75% in Chemistry
